The taboo of miscarriage and what needs to change<\/h2>\n

One in three pregnant women experiences a miscarriage. So did I. When I was sixteen weeks pregnant, I lost my child, completely unprepared, at home at night. One in three women experiences a miscarriage during their fertile years. Yet hardly anyone talks about it. Instead, myths about the causes of miscarriages fuel women\u2019s feelings of guilt and suffering. <\/span><\/p>\n

For “Mother Without a Child”, I spoke with affected women, midwives, gynecologists, and lawyers. The book highlights systemic shortcomings and underscores the political relevance of pregnancy loss. It makes clear what needs to change in order to bring a long-overdue discourse into the heart of our society. <\/span><\/p>\n

Providing education and knowledge (German\/English)<\/h2>\n

As a speaker, workshop facilitator, and expert on miscarriages, I raise teams\u2019 awareness of pregnancy loss and the needs of affected mothers and fathers. Especially in the workplace, miscarriages are rarely talked about, which is why managers and colleagues are unsure how to approach those affected. <\/p>\n

I share the most important data and facts, and how those affected can be supported as effectively as possible. Because those who encounter an open culture of conversation and empathetic managers and colleagues are more likely to return to work sooner.<\/span> <\/p>\n
